XRP finalizes in a few seconds by federated consensus, not mining and not staking. A fraction of a drop is burned on every transaction. That is why the company treasury cannot “stake for yield” the way a proof-of-stake treasury can — the yield plan is options, loans, and, later, ledger-native credit.
